I just love that Exact Software on their corporate website lists notes this blog “ranks Exact #15″ presenting the article as some qualitative measurement of Exact’s success.
They fail to mention this list just ranks product lines by their sales.
But glad Exact pointed me here so I know other ERP software vendors I can consider for my RFP to replace our current Macola system.

Ray, I wonder if CA should appear in this list since it is more of a IT apps vendor. The only business apps category that it caters to is the Project & Portfolio Management. My guess is the revenue contribution of PPM will just be a fraction of the revenues you had indicated.
Vinnie’s comments are right on. While there have been some visible, large ERP consolidations, the software market fragmentation continues, particularly in key verticals. With the $19 billion EMR Software boom upon us, the healthcare software market segment is going to be one of the most interesting to watch.
Ray, if you throw in vertical players like SunGard and McKesson and the fast growing SaaS players under $ 100 million it is amazing how fragmented the apps market is…see my note

You need to add Oracle to Top 5 SaaS Business Apps vendors which are several hundred million - both Oracle CRM On Demand and Oracle On Demand hosted apps.

Chris, you make a great point. updating to include Ultimate! Gotta love the real time nature of the blog. still taking suggestions. We could be at at Top 10 soon.
Where is ADP? Anymore their products are indistinguishable from SaaS with the exception that they probably provide more customer value!
You are missing Ultimate Software (Nasdaq: ULTI). 2008 revenues of $178M. The vast majority of revenue coming from SaaS deployment of the HCM suite of products.
You’re missing WebEx, owned by Cisco, for sure on the SaaS side of things.
