Agreed.  Thomas managed to buy enough time and wear down the BEA guys to get the prize - WebLogic and AquaLogic.  Prior versions of Oracle Fusion Middleware were competitive but not as complete as IBM's Websphere.  I'd expect to see more head to head IBM and Oracle deals in the future.  As for SAP's R/5, well we may never hear the rest of that story but some might say, SAP should have bid for BEA instead of BOBJ.

		<description>Fusion is no longer vapourware, since the BEA purchase. Prior to that only the BPM pieces made sense; and they are still a long way from the best-of-breed folks ... but Thomas Kurian now has a real story to tell :)</description>
