Do you think it is likely that Hasso has benen brought back to sell SAP. I look to other firms that have brought back ex-CEO’s and it is amazing how many sell the company shortly thereafter. Do you think this is a coincidence.
If this is the case, do you think people should be concerned about ongoing support if they want to be or are a SAP customer?

Jonny – there’s a high degree of truth to this pattern where founders come back. In this case, I believe Hasso has 12 to 18 months to fix the problem or the company is in trouble. This is definitely not the “orderly succession plan” SAP has touted in the past. Definitely a good call. What do other people think?
Jonny – It could go either way I guess. I think there’s a chance that it replicates what happened at Oracle and Apple were the founders came back or took a more active role in the company to turn it around. We shall see how these changes affect SAP and their position in the market. I think SAP are beginning to realize that they need to change if they want to keep a competitive edge.
