Cloud platform scalability makes a roll up of SMB a real growth strategy rather than a bitty consolidation of fragmented products without any hope of platform scaling. Apart from Sage and Microsoft who have proper R&D to scale and transition Windows Apps to Cloud. Probably all of the Windows based ERP consolidations to date are dead ends.

Good article. Does this announcement surprise me? No, the cloud is real and on-premise vendors like Oracle know it. At LiveOps, we’ve known for a while that the cloud is increasingly where business gets done. And customer service, particularly the contact center, is rapidly becoming the epicenter of interaction between consumers and the enterprise. Enterprises need to embrace the cloud and multichannel interactions now or get left behind.
