Now that we’re rapidly approaching Progress’ next Analyst Day in Boston, I wanted to update you on our plans and ask what you’d most like to hear about from our executives that day.
To recap, our next Analyst Day will be Thursday, January 29 at the Fairmont Copley Plaza Hotel, from 8:30 to early afternoon.
With integration of the former IONA Technologies well under way, we’re planning on making the resulting product roadmaps and strategies centerpiece of our agenda. As you can imagine, there are many exciting directions to pursue, and they’re being charted now by our executive team.
That executive team has been strengthened recently by the promotion of Rick Reidy to the position of Chief Operating Officer, with expanded responsibilities for the product development, marketing, sales, support and services for all Progress Software product lines. Rick joined Progress in 1985 as one of the original developers of the company’s flagship database product, now called OpenEdge. He led DataDirect Technologies where he and his management team more than doubled the revenue to more than $70 million in four years.
