Oracle's Fusion Apps Addresses A Broad Set Of Horizontal Modules

Oracle's continues to prove success in its business model. By acquiring the leading companies with significant recurring revenue streams, it can drive economies of scale to make above average R&D investments. The result - enough innovation in existing product lines to compel customers to pay maintenance and upgrade; and the time and resources to build a next generation product. No to impressive. IFS new application that was just released is ahead of this and thats from a much smaller company. I thought with all the work and money they put into this it would be something better. Maybe the technical middleware architecture will be more impressive.

Is it good time to start building oracle ADF skills for oracle fusion applications which are to be released by end of 2010. What do you think about when will new customers start to implement Fusion applications. I hope this will not be too early to start building new skills. What do you think? Will customers take some time before deciding on it or there already are some early adopeter, any idea how was early adopter’s experience. I hope they will be available in both on demand and on premise way, do you think on demand use is going to increase.

Girish – ADF skills and other Fusion Middleware skills will be key. I see a huge demand in OBIEE talent needed to take advantage of the new apps as well as the component apps. I think OnDemand will make up 50% of Oracle’s sales by 2013. – Ray
thank you for your reply Ray. It would be really new to see analytics capabilities embedded within transactional / record centric applications like siebel. I think this functionality is very limited as of now. i see many customers implementing both transactional and analytical applications siebel crm with OBIEE, i think applications can be made more intelligent / interesting / engaging for users with BI embedded in them. I think OBIEE is important skill along with ADF to deliver that.
